THEME FOR THE WEEK- “My City”
The third week we will pray together for our city and the area in which we live. Pray for opportunities to impact it, pray for our city officials and leaders. Pray for people in this city to come to church and experience Jesus.
VERSE OF THE DAY
Hebrews 12:13&14 (NLT)
"So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong."
Can we really do this? Often, when we are in the middle of a trial or an overwhelming situation, we feel we can’t do it. It appears to be too much, too hard and too difficult. However, in Hebrews, we see that God is encouraging us that we can do it. Take a new grip on that rope and don’t give up because there are people who are following you. So when you feel like you want to give up, remember your journey encourages people. It is your story that will make “straight paths” for the weak and lost so that they can become strong. This city is full of people who are watching us as we continue in faith. As we move forward their faith will be strengthened, and as we continue in hope, their hope will grow. Be encouraged! Take a new grip today and allow Jesus to make you strong so that others will be strengthened.
For God to give us strength, so we can take a new grip and not give up.
The Holy Spirit to strengthen the weak areas of our life so that we don’t stumble.
To give us the ability to make a “straight path” for others. That we would never make it complicated but simple- Relationship with Jesus and People.
Jesus to help us share our story even when we feel weak.
PRAYERS TO PRAY
Father, give us strength today. Our hands are weak and our legs shaken but we know you can make us strong in you.
Holy Spirit, reveal the areas that are weak in me and help strengthen them through your word.
Jesus, we thank you for the simplicity of the Gospel. Help us keep it simple for others and ourselves.
Jesus, create opportunities for us to share our story with others. The story of how you strengthened us, and let that story produce strength in others.
